ANZAC DAY.
25* . . Sir. —" Artillery." in a recent- letter, a- says, he believes it is the intention of the o- R.S.A. to have April 25 of each year set, '■'j aside as a, public holiday in memoir of 11 those who lost their lives on Gallipoli; and he goes on to refer to those, who lost t- their lives in France and elsewhere, and S. quotes his experience as a Main Body man. I also am a Main Br»)v man and e ; a member of the R.S.A. May I point out ,j. to Artillery" a.nd all others who agree with him that what we. the R.S.A. of a New Zealand, wish April 25 to be observed for is that the landing on Gallipoli was the first great feat of arms ever e accomplished by Australian and New Zea[a land, troops in any war, and as such it is >ii descrying of commemoration. Of course, g- "Artillery"' was not in the great, landq' irig. neither did artillery guns assist us in that, landing; so while casting no reflections on our New Zealand artillery, and quite, agreeing with the correspondent on the subject of war shrines, I say do not- let, us have too many solemn (rood Fridays unless they be pay days or davs of rejoicing. Ai.so Main- Body."
