At the Police Court to-day Robert George appeared on a charge of obtaining goods by false pretences by means of a valueless cheque. He was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. On a second charge of obtaining goods to the value of £15 14s and £10 6s by false pretences by means of a valueless cheque, he was committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for sentence. OFFENCE AT PALMERSTON. [BT TELEGRAPH. —TRESS ASSBCXATION.] , TALMERSTON" NORTH. Thursday. In the Police Court today Henrv Wong Gyp pleaded guilty to charges of obtaining £5 by means of a valueless cheque, and attempting to obtain £60 by means of a valueless cheque. He was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence.
