SUICIDE BY GAS POISONING.
FATALITY AT MOUNT EDE.V
An inquest into the death of Mrs. Nan McCoy, wno was found dead at her home in Haslett Street, Mount Eden, shortly after 11 o'clock on Wednesday morning, was held by Mr. J. B. Wilson, S.M., yesterday.
Evidence was given by John 1,. K McCoy, husband of deceased, who said he left home about 7.45 a.m., leaving his wife in bed. Returning about three and a-halt hours later, he found her king on the kitchen floor in a dressing-gown, with the tube of the gas-ring lying beside her face. The gas was turned on, and apertures in the door had been plugged up. She had recently returned from a trip to Canada, and had stated that she had suffered from influenza more than' •nice while away. She had complained of feeling ill since her return. After hearing medical evidence, the coroner returned a verdict of suicide by gas-poisoning during temporary insanity.
