DISORDERS IN IRELAND.
VIEWS OF LORD DECIES.
SETTLEMENT RETARDED.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK. Sept. 18.
Lord Decies, who is a representative peer for Ireland, interviewed here, said that the talk of forming a republic in Ireland was a farce. The attempt would start a civil war between north and south. The recent outrages had retarded the settlement of the Irish question for 20 years. Ireland to-day was the most prosperous country in the world. The Irish question would seem easier of solution should Irishmen themselves unite. OFFENDING ADVERTISEMENT. NEWSPAPER OFFICE RAIDED. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Sept. 18. A military party raided the office of the Cork Examiner and removed essential portions of the printing machinery. It is understood that this action was due to the paper publishing an advertisement in connection with the Sinn Fein Republican loan.
