"KA MATE! KA MATE! KA ORA! KA ORA!"

Sir,—l am pieced that " H.H." has made the query why ','Ka mate" was written as one word in a previous letter of mine on the above - I almit that it should not have been written as one word and there is no justification whatever for it; with the exception, perhaps, of "usage." Nevertheless, even if it is either one or two words, the same meaning remains, if still taken as part of " Ka mate! mate! oral Ka ora!" I merely, wished to draw the attention of those using the language to how easy it is to render a word absurd and meaningless by wrong spelling. Te Huatahi o Te Abakan.
