HERTZOG AND HIS PARTY.
VIOLENCE NOT FAVOURED. SECESSION AS AN IDEAL. A. and N.Z. CAPETOWN. Sept. 15. Addressing a meeting of Nationalists, Mr. Hertzog declared that the salvation of the people did not lie along the path of violence, but in the opposite direction. If the party decided that the time had not come actively to place independence in the forefront he would work with the party the same as ever, but absolute freedom of secession should remain their ideal.
