CLAIM FOR WAGES.
A QUESTION OF CONTRACT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ' HAMILTON, Tuesday. Judgment was given by Mr. Justice Cooper in the Supreme Court to-day in the case in which Te Ira Roa (Mr. A. E. Skelton) claimed from Matere Omipi, as administratrix of the estate of Mary Grey, deceased (Mr. Finlay), the sum of £668 wages allegedly due. Evidence was given to the effect that plaintiff had been adopted by Mary Grey and had. worked without wages, on the understanding that she would provide for him in her will, but she had failed to do so. ) In giving judgment, His Honor said that i though there was an understanding be- ! tween the parties there was no contract, j either expressed or implied, to pay wages, and plaintiff would be nonsuited. j
