Investment stocks were in strong demand again t yesterday on the sharemarket. In banks, Australasias wereetill wanted at £128, no ' sellers quoting. Buyers of Commercials (pref.) advanced offers 4s to £6 7s, but there were no sellers. For New Zealands buyers eased slightly to £14 iSs, seller* firm at £15. Insurances continued to command sustained inguiry. Business was reported in New Zealands at 34s 6d, sellers closing at 348 9d, buyers 34s 3d. There was a further rise in South British, in which transactions were reported at the high' price of £9 6s 6d, late sellers asking £9 10s, with buyers left at £9 6s 6d. In financial lines 2-iver Plates cold at 43s Sd, sellers closing at 465, buyers at 435. For Loan and Mercantiies £110 was offered, sellers £120. Preference'issue were still looked for at £65. In shipping, Huddart Parkers were firm at 495, with buyers at 48s 6d. Buyers of P. and 0. (deferred stock) increased offers by £3 to £568, sellers asking £580. In woollens, K&iapois were in sustained demand at £8, and fref. issue at £7, no sellers quoting, Miscellaneous lines were well sought, but the only transactions were in Wilsons Cements, which changed hands at 16s 3d and 16s Id. In mining, Waihi Grand Junctions were done at 14s 9d, with further buyers at that price, sellers 15s. Waihis were firmer at 48s sellers, 47s 9d Buyers. Talismans were easier at 10s 6d sellers, and 10s buyers.
