BORER IN TREES.

Sir.. — may interest some readers who ! are growers of citrus fruits to know of a simple means of counteracting the ravages of the borer. The part affected can be easily located by the borings that are ejected. Slightly widen the hole with a bradawl and insert a small portion of phosphorous rat poison, placed on the end of a twig that will easily enter the hole. It will be necessary to find the air shaft, that this very intelligent grub drives to the surface as he works along, and treat in the same manner. Caulk all holes with a bit of hard soap. I have found the above method thoroughly efficacious. < Anti-Borer.
