GREYMOUTH. Thursday. The " go-slow" policy is operating in the local mines. At Blackball the average daily output is now 331 tons, compared with 500 tons previously ; at Paparoa 74 tons daily, compared with 140, the '■ average previously. The Paparoa mine : has been idle this week. Monday was a', holiday, there was a football match on I Tuesday, and on Wednesday the truckers ! did not turn up. j The State mine has it* full complement of men, but is not working. KAITANGATA MINE RETJRN. REDUCTION OF 17 PER CENT. [BY TELEGRAPH.r-RESS ASSOCIATION.] DTTNEDON. Thursday. Records of the output at the Kaitangata coal mine this week show a reduction of about 17 per cent. COAL FOE OHEISTCHtraCH. SUPPLIES FROM NEWCASTLE. [BY telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHT7BCH. Thursday. A considerable quantity of New- j castle coal is coming in' now. The I Wanaka has brought 800 tons for ■ local merchants, 400 tons for local industries, and 2000 tons for local railways. The Melbourne, which is expected in a few days, may land about 1000 tons of Newcastle coal for merchants Vessels are coming to Lyttelton from the West Coast, with coal that is available for Canterbury. ■■ No official news has been received by the Coal Committee of a " go slow " policy . at the West Coast mines.
