LORD JELLICOE'S VISIT.
BALL IN CHRISTCHURCH.
FLAG FOR THE CATHEDRAL. [BY TKLEGBJPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday Lord Jellicoe was again busily engaged to-day in work connected with the preparation of hJs report. He and Lady Jellicoe attended the Canterbury Club's i ball to-night. A'flag which was flown at the surrender ; of the German fleet is to be deposited in j the £hristchurch Cathedral on Sunday morning by Lord Jellicoe. BLUEJACKETS IN AUCKLAND. I .SPECIAL TRAM TRIPS ARRANGED. i Free rides in the tramcars so far as the general service is concerned are not to be made available to the men from H.M.S. New Zealand during the approaching visit .of the warship. Instead, special cars are to be placed at the disposal of all the men in uniform to enable them to visit various places of interest. These' points were decided by the City Council last ■ evening on the recommendation of the [ Public Services Committee, with which the I Jellicoe Reception Committee has been I negotiating on the subject. One or two j councillors wished the broader hospitality j to be extended, but as the Public Services j Committee had consulted the general i manager of the tramways, Mr. J. J. Walklate, its recommendation of the suggested course as being the ,more expedient was adopted. The council decided to give an "At Home" to Lord Jellicoe on the evening j of his arrival.
