THEFT CHARGES ADMITTED.

HAMILTON, Wednesday.
The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court were continued before Mr. Justice Cooper to day.
Barnard Ganderton (Mr. Hunt) pleaded not guilty to attempting to break and enter the premises of W. W. Dillicar, and guilty of breaking and entering the pre misea of L. T. Cresswell and stealing tobacco, cutlery, etc., and guilty to two charges of stealing goods from his employer, L. T. Cresswell.
With respect to the first charge, the Crown Prosecutor, Mr. H. T. Gillie<s, said he would offer no evidence, ind at the judge's direction the jury returned a verdict of not guilty. In mitigation of sentence, counsel for the defence called evidence as to accused's previous good character, including his employer, who paid he was piepared to continue employing accus^J. His Honor pointed out that the police and probation officer's reports *ere unfavourable, and remanded accused no til to-morrow for sentence.
