NAVAL REDUCTIONS.

ESTIMATES REVISED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Eccd. 2 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 3.

It is reported that Mr. Walter Long, First Lord of the Admiralty, will shortly submit to the Cabinet revised Navy Estimates, reducing the present projected expenditure of £140,000,000 to £70,000,000, which will be equivalent to £34,000,000 as before the war. There will be fewer ships than before the war, but they will all be fighting ships of the latest class. Thirty-six vessels now building will he completed, but the construction of 42 others has been stopped or cancelled.
