THE RAILWAY SERVICE.
CURTAILED TIME-TABLE. AN EARLY CHANGE EXPECTED. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE KTJITI. Tuesday. It is evident that an alteration in the railway service is contemplated by Mr. Massey, who has now taken over the Ministerial duties connected with the Department. As Prime Minister, Mr. Massey recently agreed to meet a deputation from the King Country on Saturday, September 13, on the town tenure problem. Yesterday the Mayor and the president of the Te Kuiti Chamber of Commerce telegraphed to Mr. W. T. Jenn ; ngs. M.P., asking him if Mr Matsey would alter the dates of the deputation in order to fit in with the railway service. Replying today, Mr. Jennings stated that when fixing the date Mr. Massey had arranged it to fit in with the running of the trains. In the meantime he could not a'ter the date owing to pressure of business, but before September 13 it was expected that there would be a change in the railway service.
