ITALIANS LEAVE FIUME.

; ♦ EMOTIONAL SCENES. "RETURN WHEN NEEDED." Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 8 p.m.) ROME. Aug. 28. Remarkable scenes were witnessed at Fiume on the occasion of the departure of the Italian Grenadiers who have occupied Fiume since the armistice. Women drew a large tricolour across the street. They knelt and implored the'soldiers to remain. The demonstration deeply affected both officers and men, who were compelled to force their way through the crowd. As they passed through the people they cried: "We shall return whenever we are needed."
