LORD JELLICOE'S VISIT.
PRESENT AT PARLIAMENT. PUBLIC FUNCTIONS ARRANGED. [BX TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL BEPOSTEE.} WELLINGTON, Thursday. Lord Jellicoe and the members! of his staff attended the opening of Parliament to-day. I The New Zealand- was open to the public, but the number of visitors was small in consequence of the wet weather. A dinner party was given on the shin last night by Admiral and Lady Jellicoe". The _ Governor-General and the Countess of Liverpool, members of the Ministry and their wives, and military and other officials were present. On Saturday night a korero of the Wellington ' Savage Club, to be held in the Town Hall, will be attended by the Gov-ernor-General and Lord Jellicoe, who with their staffs will be the guests of honour. During their visit to Christchurch Lord and Lady Jellicoe will be the guests , of the Hon. H. F. Wigram and Mrs. Wigram, Arrangements for a visit to Rotorua by Admiral Jellicoe and 20 officers are announced. The party will arrive there on Wednesday, September 24, and leave again on September 30. On the Thursday a Maori entertainment will be given at Whakarewarewa. On Friday the party will make the round trip, and on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday they will be at Wairakei and Taupo. BEOEPTCON IN AUCKLAND. COMMITTEE MEETING TO-DAY. A special meeting of the executive of the Citizens' Committee appointed to make arrangements for the reception to Admiral Lord Jellicoe and the men of H.M.S. New Zealand is to be held at the Chamber of Commerce at 10 a.m. to-day. The form of the reception to be tendered to Lord Jellicoe by the residents of Takapuna is to be considered at a special meeting of burgesses and residents of 'the borough, to be held in the council chambers on Tuesday evening next.
