WANGANUI PROSECUTION. [BY TELEGRAPH.— association.] • WANGANUI. Tuesday. In the Supreme Court this morning Morris James Walkington Smylhe pleaded •not guilty to a charge of obtaining £3 from C. P. Scarrow, farmer, by means 01 false pretences in representing that he *-as a Government, official, and that i t was compulsory for Mr. Scarrow to purchase certain books. Ten other counts of a similar nature are included in the indictment. The case was not concluded.
