WEEK-END BOBBERY.
5 CITY SCHOOLS ENTERED. - MONEY STOLEN FROM ONE. , The Napier Street school was broken into during the week-end and money in . silver and copper to the value of 27s was ' ! stolen. An entry was also effected to the I Nelson Street school on Friday night. j tSothiftg was stole:;, but some of the i master's canes were smashed and tacks i were placed on the teachers' chairs. A , j certain amount, of wanton mischief was I done in each school, leading to the supj position that the perpetrators were of the i youthful larrikin type. It is stated that entrance was effected in each instance by I the school windows, which arc left open j for ventilation purposes. j The police are investigating the matter. j A robbery took place at the Bayfield j school, Pcnson'by, on March 23, amounts I totalling over £2. portions of the school • | funds, being stolen. The whole building , was thoroughly ransacked, locks of drawers ' . being smashed and papers scattered about. .1 ~ =========
