NEW LIBERAL LEADER. Renter. OTTAWA, Auk. 7 (delayed). Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King has been selected by the National Liberal Federation to succeed Sir Wilfrid Laurier as head of the party. Mr. William Lyon Mackenzie King was Minister of Labour in the Laurier Adminstration from 1909 to 1911. From 1900 to, 1908 he was Deputy-Minister for Labour and editor of the Canadian Labour Gazette. Mr. King, who is in his 46th year, had a brilliant career at Toronto University, and before he entered Canadian politics he was a Fellow in Political Economy at the University of Chicago.
