TECHNICAL SCHOOL CONTROL.
DIVIDED AUTHORITY. The recently-created Board of Governors of the Seddon Memorial Technical College is not satisfied with the system of control that is in vogue. A legal opinion obtained by the board confirmed its belief that as the law now stands the controlling authority is the Board of Education, and this fact limits, if only in a nominal way, the powers of the Board of Governors. „■, AH last evening's meeting of governors some discission took place upon the subject, which evidently is ateo exercising the Christchuich Technical College Board for "n» a communication in regard to a'proposal to hold a conference of high school and technical school boards in Wellington during the Parliamentary session, it mentioned the same matter as one which should be amended, It was agreed to communicate with the boards in other towns, with a view to securing necessary amendments to the Act. It was also decided to advise the Cbrist* cfanrch board that the Auckland board would participate in the conference if it were held.
