QUESTION OF RAILWAY?. [BT TELEGRAPH.— association-.] DCNEDIN. Wednesday. A deputation from the Bruce County Council asked the Hon. W. D. S. MacDonald, Minister for Mines, to support a petition to ho presented to Parliament asking the Government to take a. ti-m and extend the Taratu and Kaitap:;ata pri-vately-owned trail way lines and connect them, so as to provide one system for working the coal area, wh'c.h at present puts out 450 tons daily. With the alterations suggested it could put out 5000 toils. At present private companies could Week the companies which were to be formed, from carty'ng coal. Thq Minister said a renort en the wholn nf the coal mines of the Dominion had been prepared, with ni''crest'or.s wh:-h would be di-'-ureed by the Cabinet ncit Monday.
