A popular figure in shipping circles in London has recently passed away in tin death, at the age of 66, of Mr. George L. King, secretary of the New Zealand Shipping Company. Mr. King joined the company a-quarter of a century ago as assistant manager, and for nuray years had held the position of joint- manager. The Rev. Norman Dixon, C.F., who volunteered for the Melanesian Mission two years ago, is being demobilised, and will sail for the Pacific in two months. Dr. Russell Marshall is resigning his post with the Melanesian Mission, for whom he has served for some vears. Dr. Marshall was with the R.A.M'.C. in Palestine, where his health suffered consider* ably. Mr. G. A. C. Ulrich has been appointed manager's assistant to the Ashanti Goldfields Corporation at Obuasi, in West Africa. Mr. Ulrich graduated at the Otago School of Mines, and was for a time engineer at the Komata Reefs. Ha joined the British section of the .V.Z.E.F at Bulford, and was recently discharged after four years' service. " . Recent callers at the High Commissioner's office have included:— Mr. T. G.
