REMUERA ROAD.

Sii\—l would like to draw.attention to the. disgraceful state in which the pavement on the north ei'de of Remuera Road from Wnotton Street upwards has been le/t for the last four weeks at least owing t/j tho City Council's workmen taking the "water main up in the roadway and laying on© down in the footpath. In addition to the objectionable condition of the pavement itself, the surplus soil has been left in the water channel and extends for about Sft in the road. It is to be hoped that when the work of relaying this water main is complete the Citv Council will give us a decent footpath to Newmarket, IkiiuEiu Road.
