NORTH ISLAND CONFERENCE.

ELECTION OF COMMITTEES.

The third United Conference of the North Island and Nelson districts' Churches of Christ, was opened at tho Ponsonby Road chapel yesterday. Mr. C. F. McDonald presided, Mr. R. J. Dirk was appointed recording secretary. Mr. R. Gebbie welcomed the visiting delegates, of whom there were about 50. Greetings were exchanged with the South Island Conference, being held at Ashburton. The annual report showed that 'good progress had been made during the year, one feature of the work having been the special missions at several of the churches. A new work had been established in Gis* borne, where a valuable eito had been secured upon which a building would shortly be erected. The statistics showed a membership of 3420 in the Dominion. In the Bible schools thorc were 2207 scholars and 218 teachers. A total of 83 scholars had been added to the church during the year. Over £1200 was raised for Homo Mission work.

The following were appointed a Foreign Mission Committee : — President, Mr. Morton; vice-president, Mr. R. Gebbie; secretary, Mr. Edwards; treasurer, Mr. Smith; other members, Mine Morton, and Messrs. Wedding, Moore, and Gejjbie. The Foreign Mission Advisory Committee was appointed as follows : — Messrs. DickSOU, Boddington, Watt, Bolton, Bell, Shercliffe, and Miss Cooksley.

Various reports from evangelists wero read. A request for donations for Home Mission work resulted in £220 being subscribed at the meeting.

The following were elected as the Conference Executive Committee: — President, Mr. McDonald; vice president, Mr. CJcbbii*: secretary, Mr. Bngnall; treasurer, Mr. Evuns; and Messrs. Dick, CalInm, and Vickerv. The following wcro fleeted the Advisory Committee Mews. Cairns. Eaton, Campbell, Hearle, Clark. M. Vickery, W. Taylor.

It was decided to hold the next conference at Wellington South. The conference will bo continued today.
