PROVISION FOR SOLDIERS.

The National Provident Fund's business Was the subject of a statement on Thursday by the Minister in charge of the fund, tho Hon. Arthur M. Myus.

"A special feature of the scheme," said Mr, Myers, " is the method of retaining momljurship where it is likely to pee. in many instances the support given by the Department's officers t--» lapsing contiihutors lias resulted, not only in the retention of membership, but in the acrrtinii'iit of valuable and important benefits, which otherwise would not have come to the beneficiaries."
