CHRISTCHURCH. Friday.

A married man, Mr. Sydney Reid, aged 55, wilth six children, was caught in the shafting while attaching a belt at the Wools ton Glue Works last evening, and his bodv was found half-an-liour later by the night engineer. The body was stripped of clothing, both legs were torn off, below the knees, and the right arm below the elbow was also torn off. life was extinct when Mr. Reid was found lying in a vat below the shaft.
