' The necessity of providing adequate! accommodation for patients in the event o{ another outbreak of influenza was emphasised at a meeting of the executive of the! committee recently appointed in Rotoru,i. Mr. W. Hill, who presided, said he had been informed that 40 patient? could ho accommodated at the isolation hospital. It/ was decided to write to the Healt authorities asking for an assurance that the hospital was thoroughly equipped, and asking that four tents should be provided, to l o stored in readiness for any emergency. Tlia lady members reported that lie matron of the hospital had been interviewed regarding the teaching of young women in emergency nursing and invalid cooking. Tlia matron had assured them that if the consent of the military authorities were obtained she would give the instruction desired.
