WELLINGTON, Friday.

At latest advices the German prisoners of war who escaped from Featherston internment camp on Wednesday have not been recaptured.

The names of the escapees, and their descriptions as supplied to the police, are gi\en below: — Charles Hadler: Ago, about thirty years; height, sft Sin; fair complexion ; lair hair; blue eyes; tattooed on both arms, and scar by right ear. Was a sailor on steamer Star of India when arrested for internment. Martin Kock : Age, about thirty-two years; height, sft lOin; dark completion ; dark hair; brown eyes; tattooed on arms 'and face and hands. Was. a fireman on steamer Ulimoroa when arrested for internment. Alfred Kraut: Age, about twenty years; height, sft 7in ; dark complexion ; dark hair; brown eyes. Arrested from sailing ship Pampa ait Dunedin. I J. J. Slign: Age, about twenty-four years; height, sft 7|in; dark complexion; | dark hair; grey eyes. Served for time in the military forces, and after his dis- | charge was arrested in Auckland on suspicion of being a disaffected and dangerous alien. Claimed to be a Dutchman, but, is now definitely known to be a German. William Otteng, alias Brauner: Age, about thirty years; height, sffc B^in: ruddy complexion; brown hair; blue eyes; tattooed on right forearm. Was in Te Aro Restaurant, 38, Taranaki Street, Wellington, when attested for internment. Walter Moormeister : Age, about twentyeight years; height, sft 6in; dark complexion ; dark hair ; hazel eyes ; tatooed on both arms. Was arrested at Waihi for internment.
