Tho Wostland Mining Syndicate's first dredge started operations ill the Arftflura Valley, near Humphrey's Gulley. and is working very satisfactorily. The dreds# was fitted with special machinery for the purpose of replacing tho top soil on the tailings and thereby converting tho present valueless swamp land into future grass land. Ihe syndicate is having, a second dredge dismantled at Arahura for removal to the Arahura River, to operate a short distance away from the present dredge.
