CHAUTAUQUA MOVEMENT.
A form of ontertainment known as the ! Chautauqua movement. is to be presented ! for the first time in Auckland on ThursI day nest. The promoters of the moveI menfc, which has gained a large footing ! in America, claim that it combines educa-. tion with entertainment in a happy man'J ner. The-Auckland season is to continue 'for a week, and the performances are to take place in a largo tent, which is to be. , erected upon the old dock site on the ! waterfront. Two performances are to, be given daily, one at 2.45 p.m. and another i at 7.45 p.m. Each" programme commences , with a musical number, and, the lectures i follow- The principal contributors to the ■■ entertainment will be Doctor Johnson,': • Miss Mildred 'Clemens, the; Hon..
