ANOTHER POLL PROPOSED, A proposal that a second poll should bo taken on the question of paving the Manukau Road from Newmarket to Onohunga has been under informal consideration by representatives of the Onehnnga Borough Council, the Ono-treo Hill Road Board, and tho Mount Roskill Road Board, acting in conjunction with the Mayor of Auckland! Mr, J. 11. Canaan- The desirability of again submitting the Manvkau Road paving issue to tho ratepayers of the threo suburban areas was affirmed, and the Mayor was asked to convey tho decision formally to the three bodies, recommending that a second poll bo taken on tho day of tho next local body elections in the respective districts. The Mayor of Newmarket, Mr. 0. Leek, has also conferred with Mr. Gnnson on the subject, and it is stated that the borough is prepared to proceed with its share of the paving in the event ii the other local bodies receiving the necessary authority from the ratepayers.
