FRENCH NAVAL CLAIMS.

DEMAND FOR GERMAN SHIPS. ROLE TO PLAY AT SEA. (Received 7.15 p.m.) United Service. PARIS. Mar. 3. • The newspapers outspokenly demand that enemy warships shall replace France's old, ships. The Petit Parisien declares that if Britain insists on the destruction of the enemy warships, France must receive a special indemnity to cover the cost of bringing the navy to the •pre-war standard. Le Journal states that Britain does not need ships, but France' also has a role to play on the sea, especially during the critical 20 years when the spirit of revenge will be strongest.
