FRENCH FOOD PRICES.
EFFECTING A REDUCTION. A. and N.Z. PARIS, Mar. 2. The Food Ministry's scheme for purchasing certain foodstuffs in Britain and America, cheapening the cost of living, comes into operation on Thursday. It lowers restaurant prices by 30 per cent. The Ministry acknowledges France's indebtedness to Britain in furnishing shippingunder favourable conditions, also the co-operation of Mr. H. C. Hoover, American Food Controller.
