RESOLUTION OP CONFIDENCE. [bt telegraph.—press association.] CHRISTCHTJRCH. Monday. An address was given by Mr. R. Simple, M.P., on Sunday evening to a.very large audience. Replying to criticisms' d.nis speech a fortnight ago, a motion wis atried:—" Thai having read charges made against Mr. Semple by Mr. Ell, M.P., and the pres3 of the city, and having heard Mr. Semple in defence, this meeting places the utmost confidence in Mr. Semple as a member of Parliament and representative of the working class." The meeting was very orderly.
