SOUTHERN TRAM TROUBLE.
TWO CONDUCTORS DISCHARGED. [BT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. In connection with the tramway trouble two conductors were discharged ffora the tramway service to-day. Action was taken - on the ground that the men had either deliberately declined to collect fares or had refrained from collecting them, The conductors' were engaged on the Sumner line, and it is stated that in one case 42 sixpenny fares were not collected, while in the other 16 fares were missed. Complaint in each case was made by passengers. It is stated that other cases of a similar nature are being reported, and action will be taken when the facts are ascertained.
