LOCAL PRICE OF BUTTER.
INCREASE NOT TO $$ MADE. [BY TELEGRAPH.— CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. No further information concerning the prices to be given for New Zealand butter and cheese exported to Great Britain will be available for at least a week, according to a statement made by tho Prime Minister to-day. The resolutions of the recent conference form the basis of a cablegram sent by Mr. Massey to the Imperial authorities, and a reply will have to be received beforo there can be any further developments. The Prime Minister added to-day that should the increase to 181s per hundredweight bo granted, the local maximum of Is 8a per lb for butter would still be enforced.
