Titk rainfall for the first 21 days of the present month, as recorded by Mr. F. A. F. Burnett- official observer, at the meteorological station at Albert Park, amounts to 4.83 in. The heaviest fall in one day was .88in for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. on July 15, the next heaviest being .36 for the period ended on July 10. So far this month there have been only two —July 3 and 4on which no rain has fallen. Prior to July 3, rain had fallen every day back to June 5. The rainfall fur the 24 hours ended midnight, as recorded by the Herald gauge, was ,26in. During the first 21 days of July last year 5.16 in were recorded, of which no less than 1.56 in fell during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. on July 15, the rainfall for the preceding day being 1.36 in. The total for tho month was 9.59 in, or 43 points more than the previous highest fall for July, which was 9.16 in, recorded in 1882.
