SOLDIERS ON POOR LAND.
BAY OF ISLANDS PROTEST.

KAWAKAWA. Monday. Titf, Bay of Islands County Council has passed a resolution protesting against returned soldiers being placed on the poorer classes of land, and urging that men with a knowledge of local conditions should be allowed to co-operate with the Land Purchase Board in the buying of estates for soldier settlers.
