UNSETTLED CONDITIONS.
FORECAST BY MR. C. L. WRAGGE
Very changeable weather was experienced over the Wfcek-end, the fine spell which commenced on Thursday morning having lasted two days only. On Saturday morning the wind, which had been from the south-east, changed to the north-west and tho sky became dull and threatening. Bam began to foil in tho afternoon and continued until yesterday morning, the remainder of the day being fine. The barometer, which had risen to 30.05 in by mid-day on Friday, then began to fall, and last night the reading was 29.67 in. Tho rainfall for the 48 hours ending midnight, as registered by the, Herald gauge, was ,31in.
The following weather forecast was supplied bv Mr. Clement L. Wraggo at 9 p.m. yesterday :— Notwithstanding the fine evening tho atmosphere is in a decidedly unsettled state, as tho standard barometer at sea level reads 29.6119 and is still falling. In these circumstances intermittent showers and local 3qualls from between north-west and south-west are likely in tho carlv future, and especially so south from Auckland. It is significant that tho sun is again very active, and we should notbo surprised to hoar of seismic and volcanic disturbances in other part* of the world.
