TEAMCAES COLLIDE.

MOTORMAN SLIGHTLY HURT. ONE CAR BADLY DAMAGED. A collision between two tramcars, near the corner of Queen and Victoria Streets, at a quarter put'nine on Saturday night, resulted in injury to Mr. Richard Blackburn, a motorman, whose home is at Kotaro Avenue, Herno Bay. The two tramcars-No. 109, bound for Epsom, and No. 160, travelling to Ponsonby-stopped to pick up passengers at Wyndham Street. Car No. W9 left the stoppingplace- and had travelled as far as Partridge's Building when tho motorman, Mr. A. Lakeland, had to apply his brakes hurriedly to avoid running down a man who stepped on to the lino in front of the car. The second car was following behind and, before Mr. Blackburn could apply bis emergency brake, crashed into the rear of tho Epsom car with considertl)lo force. Tho woodwork and glass on iho front platform'of the second car was completely demolished, and Mr. Blackburn was imprisoned among the debris. Ho was extricated and taken to His Majesty's Arcade, ' where he was examined by Dr. do Clivo Lowe, who found that while he was suffering from shock no bones had been broken, tho injuries consisting of bruises on the right leg and abrasions to the head, caused by falling glass. Tho injured man was taken to his home. The cars were only partially filled at the time of the collision, and none of tho passengers received injury beyond bruises caused by sudden contact with the backs of scats, but a few of the lady passengers fainted as tile result of the shock.
