NEUVE EGLISE CLAIMED. FIGHTING WITH THE FRENCH (Received 9.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z.-Router. LONDON, April 15. A German official wireless message states:—On the battlefield of tho Lys we gained ground. We penetrated enemy positions south-west of Wulvcrghem, and stormed and captured Neuvo Egliso. After a desperate struggle with counterattacking troops, wo took possession of "a height west of Neuve Egliso. Fighting took place with variable results near Bailleul. We captured Merris and Vicux Berquin. Enemy forces, pushing forward towards tho battlefield, sustained heavy losses. An attack by several French battalions against Hainvillers sanguinarily collapsed. We look many prisoners. Wo carried out a successful thrust against the Americans north of St. Mihiol, inflicting heavy losses. Wo brought back prisoners. We shot down 37 enemy aeroplanes during tho last few days.
