MEASURE OF PRECAUTION. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Mar. 10. The statement of Sir 'Eric Geddes, First Lord of tho Admiralty, regarding the darkening of ships was that the enemy was often assisted by insufficient precautions as regards lights on ships. Absolutely complote darkness was essential for their protection.
