CHURCH CO-OPERATION.
WORK IN OTAGO. [BT TELEGRATH.—PRESS association.] CHRISTCHURCH. Monday. • The following motion, moved by the E«v. W. Saunder, Dunedin, was passed by the council of the Congregational Union today:—"This council, having had placed before it an account of the co-operation in social service by the Otago Congregational Churchcs i with the Presbyterian Church of that province, expresses its hearty appreciation of the action of the Presbyterians in inviting such cooperation, and strongly recommends Congregationalists in other parts of the Dominion to enter on a similar co-operation if the opportunity offers. The council further declares its willingness to consider sympathetically any proposals from the Presbyterian Church for a yet closer co-operation in Christian work, and even expresses its hop© that the everincreasing co-operation may eventually issue in such a practical federation as will make the ultimate union of the two historical Churches both natural and easy, if such a union is for tho glorv of God"and the extension of His kingdom." A copy of this resolution is to be sent to the chairman of the Presbyterian Social Service Committee in Otago', and to the moderator of the Presbvterian Church of New Zealand.
