SHIPS, DOCKS AND MUNITION FACTORIES BURNED. Eeuter. NEW YORK, Jin. 27. German sympathisers have apparently launched a fire offensive. Extensive damage has been done in many cities, aggregating a million sterling. Two Baltimore plants working on munitions were burned, six persons being, killed and many injured by an explosion in the torpedo works. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. WASHINGTON, Jan. 27. Two steamers at Atlantic ports are on fire. The President recently received an anonymous warning of a nation-wide plot to destroy docks and war plants. Seven Army Department warehouses and several municipal docks were destroyed by a fire of mysterious origin at an Atlantic port. The storehouses were empty, and the shipbuilding plant was saved. An explosion at a torpedo manufactory at Newport killed eight people and injured seven.
