1 Sir,—" Aaglo-Catholic" thinks I have missed the'point of his letter, because I did not refer to his statement as to tha alleged lacfi of charity in the Catholic. Church in the past, find the consequent necessity foi the formation- oi the Protestant Political Association. I think not, and, anyhow, Father Ainsworth's doctrine is not new. One does not go aloft to scrape thej rudder._ " Anglo-Catholic's" letter was -written in defence of the existence of flw Protestant Political Association. and, 111 ray last letter, I told him that Father ! Ainsworth's definition of charity mightj'woll be assimilated by thai body. I tell [him so again, and would remind him that the commissioner, Mr. Bishop, S.M., !&Ir. L. M. Isitt. M.P., and, lastly, our widely and deservedly _ respected ex-Auckland magistrate, Dr. Giles, in language most unmistakable and vehement, have denounced the uncharitableness of the head and front of this discredited association. Need I say more? 11 Catholic.
