AEROPLANES AND WARSHIP BOMBARD BEIRUT HARBOUR
DIRECT HITS MADE AND, FIRES STARTED. ' Australian and N.Z. and Router. (Reed. 11.6 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 90.
An Admiralty report states : Naval aeroplanes on Thursday bombed storehouses on the south-western side of Beirut Harbour, on the Syrian coast. Many direct hits were made and fires were started. All the aeroplanes returned. A cruiser shelled and set fire to storehouses and other buildings.
