The following candidates from the Auck- .'• land military district have qualified in " v v their examination, for promotion : SecondLieutenants H. G. Gibson, M. M. Millikin, H. Binstead, G. McNab, R. J. Thompson, A. J. Yeart, E. I* Barker. The examinations for first appointments to commissions and for promotion take place this week at the Garrison Officers Club. The candidates for first appointments commence to-day.
In connection with the voluntary class of instruction for temporary officers and non-commissioned officers of the senior cadets, held weekly at the Drill Hall on Friday evenings, it should be understood that only senior non-commissioned officers of the rank of sergeant and above are eligible to attend.
The Auckland Division. New Zealand Garrison Artillery, will be inspected bv the officer commanding the district on Monday. September 3. The division and hand will parade and march to the Drill Hall, where the inspection will be held All leave, save under very exceptional circumstances, is cancelled.
