The Admiralty announces that a Japanese torpedo flotilla attacked an enemy submarine in the Mediterranean on Tuesday. It is believed the submarine was sunk. , POLICING THE SEAS. WORK DONE FOR BRITAIN. LONDON, June 18. Admiral Yamaji, of the Japanese navy, outlining Japan's part in the war, said that in response to an appeal by the British Government, Japanese warships were operating in the Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean. Some were operating close to the shores of Australia.
