ALBANY NEWS.

At the annual meeting of the Albany Fruitgrowers' Association, the following officers were elected President, Mr, W. G. Boyd; vice-president, Mr. H. Day; treasurer,-Mr. G. H. Battersby; secretary, Mr. A. J. Healey. At the annual meeting of the Albany branch of the Farmers' Union, officers were elected as —President and treasurer, Mr. Hootonj vice-president,. Mr, Foley; secretary, Mr. Davis executive, Messrs. Miller, Battersby, Skilton, Davis, Foley, and Hooton. . Mr. H. E. Pacoy, managing director of the New Zealand Dairy Association, on Monday last visited the district, and addressed a largo meeting of settlers interested in dairying. Mr. Davis occupied the chair. 'The meeting was convened to discuss the question of the erection of a butter factory in Albany, and Mr. Pacev delivered a very interesting address' on the subject' of co-operation m connection - with: dairying, ; A committee was formed ,to further the object.;
