NORTHCOTE SCHOOL
VISIT OF THE MINISTER. Tite disabilities nude.: which the Northcote School Committee is suffering owing to the need for further school accommoda- : tion were yesterday afternoon brought under the notice of the Minister for Education, the Hon. J. A. Hanan, who visited . the district in company with Mr. A. .' Hams, M.P., and Mr. McPhail, chairman of the committee. The Minister inspected two sites which the Education Board hasacquired, and on which it is desired that side-schools should he erected to serve the. v requirements of Northcote and Birken- . head. It was represented to Mr. Hanan that young children in the district had , too long a distance to walk to the present school. The latter, he was also informed, is at present very much overcrowded. TheMinister inspected the school building, and also the Public Hall, which is beinj used as aside-school. He promised to consider the representations made to him, on his return to Wellington.
